Album Artwork - Corre Diablo

I was commissioned by the band, Corre Diablo, to develop and design their artwork for their first full-length album, Monument. This included the front and back cover for the album, multiple insert cards with lyrics, and print preparation for a vinyl release.

Project Details

For this project, I was given a few photos taken by the band and asked to develop something that would feel like they were looking at these pieces within a museum.

I brainstormed how to expand this idea into something that truly reflected the album, landing on a concept where the photos appear to extend beyond their frames—as if the images continue onto the gallery wall itself.

Concept + Process

After my initial brainstorm for the project, I sent over my thesis and some mockups of the idea to the band for approval.

My thesis reads:

"I took the canvas idea and expanded it, quite literally. To me, these songs are about groups and subjects that don't get support because they are never the focal point in our society."

Using Photoshop and an image of a blank canvas, I placed the photos with multiple layer effects and adjusted the colors and texture to match the feel of a portrait hanging in a museum. I focused on taking certain elements of the photos and having them step out of the frame. I wanted each subject stepping out of the frame to serve a purpose and draw the viewer's eye.

Thank you to the band for trusting me with their monumental release. It was a pleasure to work on this project.

I also did a guest vocal feature for a track on the album called, “Turn Back Around”. You can hear the track along with a link to buy the vinyl.
